Evan Mitchell Schares, Ph.D.

Schares is an award-winning stage director, arts journalist, and curator.

He is Vice-Chair of the Performance Studies Division of the National Communication Association and is Guest Editor at Journal of Writing in Creative Practice.

An essayist, his scholarly works can be read in Text and Performance Quarterly, Resonance: A Journal of Sound & Culture, and International Journal of Performance Art & Digital Media. As a performance critic, he writes for Broad Street Review.

His Storm Lists are currently on exhibit at Binding Agents in Philadelphia’s Italian Market.

He holds a PhD from Louisiana State University.
